UPG SUSTAINABILITY LEADERSHIP

UPG Sustainability Leadership mobilizes people and organizations to support positive citizen leadership on sustainability. We bring together people who are committed to impacting by taking positive actions. Every individual and organization can play a positive role. The goal of this training is to increase the capacity of UPG Sustainability Leaders to lead at least one project of their own choosing in their community. In addition, upon the conclusion of these pieces of training, UPG Sustainability Leaders conduct a secondary wave of mini-training sessions within their communities; contributing to a groundswell of informed citizens taking positive action and demonstrating sustainability leadership. The #SumItUp competition invites you to use your authentic voice to present a one minute video reflection or unleash your creativity to present a unique visual infographic of what happened in one of the #Youth4ClimateLive Series episodes. Each sum-up should communicate key takeaways from the episode of your choosing rather than a general summary. One winner will be selected to win a trip (including travel and accommodation) to Milan to present their creative sum-up in person at Youth4Climate: Driving Ambition in Milan from September 28 to 30, 2021. iF SOCIAL IMPACT PRIZE
No deadlines (read more about the dates in the text below) The iF SOCIAL IMPACT PRIZE aims to publish and support projects that contribute to our society. We do not charge any fees. The best projects will be honored with a prize money of EUR 50,000 in total. Publish your project in the iF WORLD DESIGN GUIDE (for free) and you will automatically compete for the prize in 2020! In addition, your project will reach the global design community. Companies, design studios, NGOs, foundations, public and other organizations are welcome to submit. Your project should already be established and you can apply with the same project a maximum of two times. Student concepts will not be accepted. There is no deadline for your publication and you can apply every day. Twice a year the prize money will be decided: after 27 May 2020, and after 19 November 2020. Apply here.
The 2021 Global Mayors Challenge

COVID-19 has changed daily life for people around the world and required that cities do more with fewer resources than ever before. Yet, even in the face of a public health crisis, social unrest, massive budget shortfalls, and mounting climate disasters, mayors are innovating and taking bold steps to tackle their cities’ most pressing challenges. The 2021 Global Mayors Challenge is the farthest reaching, most ambitious to date. After uncovering the 50 most innovative urban solutions in the wake of COVID-19, the Challenge will award 15 grand prize winners $1 million each—to help cities implement their breakthrough ideas and, ultimately, to spread those ideas to other cities on a global scale.
