Carolina Schäffer, associada e colaboradora da Apremavi, participou do Curso de Desenvolvimento de Lideranças para o Século XXI no Brasil, e agora é parte do YCL Network, onde, junto com os demais líderes climáticos, está pensando em soluções para enfrentar os desafios impostos pelas mudanças climáticas. Para inspirar outros jovens, Carolina contou um pouco como foi a sua participação no curso Brasil.
Composto por 3 partes: imersão, field placement e formação de delegação para COP24, o curso teve um currículo focado no desenvolvimento de habilidades para liderança, como Teoria U, escuta ativa e escrita reflexiva. Especialistas em ciência do clima, cooperação internacional, gestão de projetos e transição de carreira também foram convidados a apresentar suas trajetórias e projetos para inspirar o grupo de líderes.
Após 6 semanas de encontros para discussão teórica, o curso foi finalizado com uma imersão prática de quatro dias no Sinal do Vale, em Duque de Caxias (RJ), um lugar idealizado para regenerar ecossistemas, comunidades e indivíduos através de relacionamentos inspiradores e experiências de aprendizado. No famoso modelo do “aprender fazendo”, o Sinal do Vale sugere aos visitantes um mergulho em práticas que propõe soluções para a restauração das florestas e a regeneração dos solos, a importância das trocas entre as comunidades e a sugestão de novos sistemas e hábitos alimentares.
Além da oportunidade de mergulhar nas práticas oferecidas pelo Sinal do Vale, foram criados espaços interativos e rodas de conversas onde os jovens puderam compreender a importância e o funcionamento de diferentes iniciativas como a Plant for The Planet, a Mancha Tintas Orgânicas, e a plataforma Compras do Bem, todas engajadas no mesmo propósito de construir um planeta mais sustentável. Também foram elaboradas dinâmicas que ajudaram os líderes em clima a aprofundar o seu estudo nos planos de carreira e na conexão com o propósito de vida e suas missões.
No penúltimo dia da imersão do YCL no Sinal do Vale, Felipe Villela, da reNature., e Eraldo Nagual, da Ecovila El Nagual, ministraram uma prática em agrofloresta para os jovens líderes do YCL.
A agrofloresta é uma prática agrícola sustentável que produz alimentos de forma natural. É caracterizada por misturar várias árvores, arbustos, hortaliças, gramíneas e culturas que se complementam, conseguindo assim uma maior variedade de rendimentos e mantendo o equilíbrio natural do ecossistema. Essas plantações simultâneas garantem um fornecimento contínuo de alimentos, bem como alto retorno econômico.
Ao cursar as trilhas propostas pelo programa, os participantes foram convidados a construir uma declaração de futuro na qual deveriam buscar caminhos e soluções para responder a seguinte pergunta: Qual a realidade futura que eu hoje escolho criar, e como a manifestarei na prática?
'' Oi, eu sou a Carolina. Sou bióloga e artista. Aprendi desde cedo a amar e respeitar a natureza. Compreendo que todas as formas de vida merecem respeito e cuidado. Entendo que no mundo em que vivemos todos somos parte de um todo, não há pensamento solitário. Sei que o futuro aonde quero viver é influenciado diretamente pelos meus hábitos e minhas escolhas e também pelos hábitos dos meus amigos, parentes e vizinhos. Por isso, e pelo amor que as florestas me ensinaram a ter, a realidade que eu escolho construir hoje é baseada na expansão da consciência, na multiplicação do conhecimento, na difusão das ideias. Quanto mais pessoas se reconectarem com a natureza, maior será a chance de salvarmos a humanidade. Eu acredito que cada movimento é importante e conta: uma foto do momento decisivo, uma conversa com o amigo não convertido, um filme emocionado, um livro escrito na folha de bambu, uma poesia musicada, uma comida preparada com afeto, uma árvore semeada com amor. Carolina Schäffer, an associate and collaborator of Apremavi, participated in the Leadership Development Course for the 21st Century in Brazil, and is now part of YCL Network, where, along with the other climate leaders, she is thinking of solutions to face the challenges posed by climate changes. To inspire other young people, Carolina told us about your experience.
Comprising 3 parts: immersion, field placement and delegation training for COP24, the course had a curriculum focused on developing leadership skills such as U Theory, active listening and reflective writing. Specialists in climate science, international cooperation, project management and career transition were also invited to present their trajectories and projects to inspire the group of leaders.
After 6 weeks of meetings for theoretical discussion, the course was finalized with a four-day practical immersion in the Sinal do Vale in Duque de Caxias (RJ), a place designed to regenerate ecosystems, communities and individuals through inspiring relationships and learning. In the well-known "learn by doing" model, Sinal do Vale suggests visitors a dip in practices that proposes solutions for restoring forests and regenerating soils, the importance of exchanges between communities and the suggestion of new systems and eating habits .
In addition to the opportunity to immerse themselves in the practices offered by the Sinal do Vale, interactive spaces and conversation were created where young people could understand the importance and operation of different initiatives such as Plant for The Planet, Mancha Tintas Orgânicas and Compra do Bem plataform, all engaged in the same purpose of building a more sustainable planet. Dynamics have also been developed that have helped climate leaders to deepen their study in career plans and in connection with life purpose and missions.
On the penultimate day of YCL's immersion at Sinal do Vale, Felipe Villela, from reNature and Eraldo Nagual, from Ecovila El Nagual, administered an agroforestry practice for YCL youth leaders.
Agroforestry is a sustainable agricultural practice that produces food in a natural way. It is characterized by mixing various trees, shrubs, vegetables, grasses and crops that complement each other, thus achieving a greater variety of yields and maintaining the natural balance of the ecosystem. These simultaneous plantations ensure a continuous supply of food as well as high economic return.
In taking the courses proposed by the program, participants were invited to construct a declaration of the future in which they should seek ways and solutions to answer the following question: What future reality do I choose today, and how will I manifest it in practice?

I understand that in the world we live in, we are all part of a whole, there is no solitary thought. I know that the future where I want to live is influenced directly by my habits and my choices and also by the habits of my friends, relatives and neighbors. Therefore, and for the love that the forests taught me to have, the reality that I choose to build today is based on the expansion of consciousness, the multiplication of knowledge, the diffusion of ideas. The more people reconnect with nature, the greater the chance of saving humanity. I believe that each movement is important and counts: a photo of the decisive moment, a conversation with the unconverted friend, an excited film, a book written on bamboo leaf, a music poetry, a food prepared with affection, a tree sown with love.
